December 16, 2025 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations Gebze Technical University (GTU) Aerospace Club comes together with its sponsors that supported its projects throughout 2025, sharing success stories and presenting plaques of appreciation. Held on December 15, 2025, at the GTU Congress Center, the event features a speech by Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, who focuses on the future of education and the vital importance of collaboration between students and the business world.
In his address, Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar emphasized that student societies, and particularly student teams such as the Aerospace Club, have become a fundamental component of education. He stated that these teams undertake 35–40% of the educational workload, highlighting that modern education is built upon the principles of “learning by doing” and “learning together.” He also noted that in the future, the role of academics will shift from lecturing to mentoring, and that it is crucial for students to develop problem-solving skills by identifying their own topics and working independently.
Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar underlined that financial sustainability in universities cannot rely solely on public funding, stressing that the inclusion of the business world and sponsors in this equation is essential. “Like pieces of a puzzle, if the university administration is one part of the equation, students are another, and sponsors, businesspeople, and the business world form yet another. We must all integrate together.” he said.
Mantar further emphasized that the sustainability achieved through sponsors’ support holds a moral value beyond its financial dimension, fostering students’ awareness of social responsibility in their future lives.
The Club Introduced Its Projects and Expressed Its Appreciation During the ceremony hosted by the GTU Aerospace Club, presentations were delivered on the club’s ongoing and future projects, detailing the technical achievements made possible through sponsors’ support. Plaques of appreciation were presented by GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar to representatives of the sponsors who contributed to the club’s success story.
