December 15, 2025 – GTU Office of Press and Public Relations Gebze Technical University (GTU) Esports Team wins the title of VALORANT Champion of Türkiye at the 2025 University Cup, organized by Riot Games and featuring the participation of nearly 200 university teams from across Türkiye.
The prestigious University Cup, held online annually by Riot Games, began with the first open qualifier on December 1, 2025, and hosted a series of highly competitive games. Led by GTU Esports Society President Kılıçarslan Atila, the GTU VALORANT Team drew attention throughout the tournament with its outstanding performance.
The team advanced to the playoffs by completing the first open qualifier undefeated. In the semifinals, the GTU Esports VALORANT Team defeated AYBÜ Tigers with a decisive 2–0 score. In the grand final, they faced the strong opponent Klod9. After a thrilling and closely contested match, the team secured a 3–2 victory, bringing the trophy to GTU and claiming the top spot in the 2025 University Cup.
The roster of the GTU Esports VALORANT Team, crowned Champion of Türkiye, consists of the following players: Kılıçarslan Atila (Team President and Player), Ersel Örs, Haluk Demirci, Emir Sel, and Mehmet Yıldız.
