December 12, 2025 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations Continuing its support for educational and academic activities in the region, Gebze Technical University (GTU) signs a Social and Scientific Cooperation Protocol with the Körfez District Directorate of National Education and Yarımca Anatolian High School. Valid for a period of four years, the protocol aims to support the academic development of high school students, increase their scientific awareness, and prepare them for university life.
Within the scope of the protocol, cooperation between the university and the high school is intended to enhance the quality of education and enrich teaching processes. Students of Yarımca Anatolian High School will have the opportunity to benefit from the academic and social facilities offered by the university. In this context, students will be able to visit GTU’s modern research units, use its laboratories, and conduct on-site research at the university library. In addition, they will be able to participate in the university’s sports, scientific, and cultural activities, contributing to their social development.
The cooperation is not limited to students; it also includes the provision of expertise support and in-service training opportunities for high school teachers. University faculty members will be able to teach courses to high school students under appropriate conditions and provide staff support to commissions established to enhance science education. Among the strategic objectives of the protocol are the preparation and implementation of joint project proposals to be funded by national and international sources. Cooperation will also be carried out in areas such as the development of engineering and applied sciences education.
The protocol, signed by Vice-Rector Prof. Mahmut Durmuş on behalf of the Gebze Technical University Rectorate; by Director Sergülen Kurt on behalf of the Körfez District Directorate of National Education; and by Principal İsmail Boğa on behalf of Yarımca Anatolian High School, stands as a strong indicator of effective collaboration among educational institutions in the region. |
