December 12, 2025 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations Gebze Technical University (GTU) students achieve significant success at the Ideathon organized by Emlak Konut, an institution affiliated with the Republic of Türkiye’s Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change. GTU’s CrisisTech team finishes the final round in second place at the competition, which is held within the scope of the Take Off Istanbul Startup Summit.
During the Ideathon process, where hundreds of applications were evaluated, a total of 19 teams competed, and 5 teams advanced to the final stage. From GTU, three different teams successfully passed the preliminary evaluation rounds and earned the right to compete in the final phase of the main competition.
The final presentations were delivered on the stage of the Take Off Istanbul Startup Summit. Operating under the umbrella of the Hype Social Entrepreneurship Club, the CrisisTech team developed a technology-based intelligent disaster management system designed to ensure rapid, coordinated, and effective response during disasters and crisis situations. By enabling fast access to accurate information in emergencies and aiming to enhance human safety, the project earned the team second place in the Ideathon. The CrisisTech team consisted of Lokman Eren Üneş, Miray Uçar, and Hamidin Küçükoğlu.
Another finalist team, Sirius, presented its project Nex-Us, which aims to accelerate decision-making processes in residential site management through algorithm-based multi-criteria analyses, thereby creating fairer and more efficient management models. The Sirius team included Mustafa Eren and Eren Yurdakul.
The ArchiVita team, on the other hand, introduced Ecoloop, an intelligent sustainability solution designed to reduce energy waste and lower the carbon footprint through IoT-supported resource tracking and a gamified recycling system. The team comprised of Ahmet Avcı, Elif Uzluer, Başak Ayyıldız, and Simay Akpınar.
Organized by Emlak Konut under the theme “Smart Residential Management Solutions That Improve Quality of Life,” the Ideathon results achieved on the international platform of Take Off Istanbul once again demonstrated Gebze Technical University’s competence and strength in technology and entrepreneurship. |
