December 11, 2025 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations Delegation from the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Nigeria, visits Gebze Technical University (GTU) to discuss opportunities for academic cooperation and joint research. During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at developing mutually beneficial relations in scientific, technological, and academic fields is signed between the two institutions.
During the meetings held at the GTU Rectorate, productive discussions were conducted on education, student exchange, and scientific projects. GTU and UNILORIN aim to strengthen their collaboration on an international scale and maximize the exchange of knowledge and experience.
At the meeting where the cooperation agreement was signed, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar emphasized that the discussions should not remain on paper and that tangible work should begin immediately. Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar added that they could initiate the exchange program with an initial group of 10 students. He also noted that joint ADEP (Research Universities Support Program) projects should be launched and that co-supervisors from the University of Ilorin could be appointed for graduate theses.
Key Areas Under the MoU The cooperation covers student and faculty exchange programs as well as the execution of joint academic and industrial research projects. Additionally, the parties aim to establish deeper international engagement in education and science by organizing joint programs and events, and by facilitating knowledge and technology transfer. The collaboration seeks to enhance the regional and global scientific capacities of both universities. |
