Gebze Technical University (GTU) develops an innovative software application titled the “Inventory Tracking System (ETS)” to promote more effective and efficient use of public resources. The system aims to ensure that surplus inventory items within GTU’s units can be quickly reallocated to meet the needs of other units.

Developed by GTU’s Directorate of Information Technology, ETS enables transparent and rapid management of the university’s inventory. Unit Inventory Officers and the Office of the Secretary-General are authorized to access the system. Inventory officers record unused or surplus items in the system along with all necessary details. These surplus items are then displayed in a centralized list accessible to all units. Units in need can easily reserve the items they require through this list. Following the reservation, the delivery procedures are also logged within the system, allowing full traceability of the process.

With the implementation of ETS, the university aims to prioritize the use of surplus internal resources rather than procuring new items to meet its units' needs. In this way, public resources are used more efficiently, contributing to significant budget savings. Through this digital transformation initiative, GTU reinforces its commitment to a sustainable and savings-oriented management approach.
