December 9, 2025 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations Gebze Technical University (GTU) adds a new initiative to its activities carried out with a strong sense of social responsibility. Surplus clothing items available at the Genç (Young) Boutique within GTU are delivered to the Darıca Social Services Center Directorate in cooperation with the Gebze Red Crescent Directorate, ensuring they reach children in need.
As part of the meaningful donation, clothing items were gifted to a total of 126 children: 64 girls and 62 boys. This support has made a valuable contribution to meeting the children’s basic needs and bringing joy to their lives.
GTU aims to take a leading role not only in education and science but also in social impact and community engagement. This collaboration with the Darıca Social Service Center Directorate plays a significant role in ensuring resources are utilized effectively and support reaches disadvantaged groups.
A Sustainability-Oriented Approach This project also aligns with GTU’s sustainability goals. By preventing surplus items from becoming waste and extending their lifespan, the initiative contributes to the circular economy model. In doing so, it reduces textile waste and helps minimize environmental impact.
GTU will continue to create social value and promote sustainable practices for a more livable environment through such social responsibility projects. |
