December 4, 2025 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations Gebze Technical University (GTU) once again demonstrates its academic weight in the scientific community by maintaining a stable position in the 2025 Research Universities Ranking announced today by the CoHE (Council of Higher Education). Ranked 19th on the list, GTU’s success is regarded as the uninterrupted result of its commitment to high-quality research, substantial societal impact, and alignment with national goals.
GTU’s journey toward becoming a research university reached a milestone in the 2017–2018 academic year, when it was officially recognized by presidential decree as one of Türkiye’s ten research universities, granting it a new strategic status.
Since that pivotal announcement, GTU has consistently translated the responsibilities of its status into concrete output. The 2025 ranking by YÖK offers the clearest evidence that the university has preserved its trajectory of producing high-impact science and making societal impact since its establishment.
With its specialization in technology and engineering, GTU has reinforced this achievement through sustained performance in patent applications, securing international research funding, and maintaining scientific publications in high-impact (Q1-Q2) journals.
Riding the momentum of this success, GTU has set its sights on future objectives centered around internationalization and increasing scientific impact.
