November 24, 2025 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations The 8th International Symposium on Membrane Technologies and Applications (MEMTEK 2025), in which Gebze Technical University (GTU) has played an active role on the organizing committee, brings together over 270 participants from more than 30 countries in İzmir.
Gathering leading scientists, engineers, and industry representatives in the field of membrane technologies, MEMTEK 2025 was successfully held at the Wyndham Grand İzmir Özdilek Hotel from November 12–14, 2025.
Chaired by Prof. İsmail Koyuncu, Prof. Bülent Keskinler, and Prof. Nalan Kabay, this prestigious event saw Gebze Technical University making significant contributions through its work on the organizing committee. GTU Faculty of Environmental Engineering members, Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Balçık and Assoc. Prof. Bahar Özbey-Ünal, served on the symposium’s organization committee, ensuring the event’s successful execution.
Global Interest MEMTEK 2025 received a total of 219 paper submissions from 34 countries, resulting in a robust scientific program. The event featured sessions with 8 invited speakers from 7 countries and 16 keynote speakers from 9 countries, alongside 153 oral and 66 poster presentations. With over 200 papers presented in total, the symposium provided a highly impactful platform for collaboration between academia and industry.
Cutting-Edge Research in Critical Areas Throughout the symposium, the latest research in globally-important fields such as energy, environment, water treatment, gas separation, waste management, and advanced material development was discussed. With its multidisciplinary approach and rich scientific content, MEMTEK 2025 stood out as an international hub for sharing innovations and technological advancements in the sector. |
