Gebze Technical University (GTU) Hype Social Entrepreneurship Club and Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Leadership Club have jointly carried out a social responsibility project. Through the campaign they named “One Pair of Boots, One Coat,” the students aimed to support children in need during the winter months.

Identifying the lack of winter clothing among students, particularly in rural areas, the clubs launched the first phase of the project in Malatya. Targeting students who receive transportation-based education, the campaign quickly turned into a major mobilization for donation.

At the end of the two-week effort, donation boxes containing not only boots and coats but also scarves, beanies, and stationery supplies were prepared. The students also placed handwritten notes in the boxes for the children. All collected items were delivered to students in Malatya.

The Goal Expands: Next in Line Are Children Affected by the Earthquake

Following the successful completion of the campaign in Malatya, the GTU Hype Social Entrepreneurship Club decided to expand the project. In the second phase, the club shifted its focus to children affected by the earthquake in Adıyaman.

The new campaign aims to meet the winter clothing and stationery needs of 410 earthquake-affected children. This collaboration between GTU and ITU clubs serves as an example of the strong social awareness among young people.

As preparations continue rapidly for the project in Adıyaman, the students are inviting benefactors to contribute to the campaign.
