November 12, 2025 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations A strategic academic partnership officially begins between Gebze Technical University (GTU) and the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).
The strategic academic partnership between Gebze Technical University (GTU) and the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) has officially started. The two well-established institutions took their first steps toward future collaboration during a comprehensive meeting held at GTU.
The meeting, chaired by GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, brought together the ASOIU delegation at the GTU Rectorate. The agreement was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the end of the meeting.
The collaboration aims to establish a long-term partnership in education, research, and student exchange. The main topics of the agreement are as follows: Joint Graduate Programs: Launch of joint programs in strategic fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, materials engineering, environmental and water management, construction, and disaster management. Mobility: Initiation of student and academic staff exchange programs. Joint Projects: Submission of a joint project proposal to NATO’s “Science for Peace” program.
During the meeting, the GTU delegation shared its extensive experience in industry-oriented doctoral programs, artificial intelligence competitions, and international academic networks with the Azerbaijani delegation.
The ASOIU delegation attended the meeting at GTU under the leadership of Rector Prof. Rufat Azizov. The delegation included Rza Mamamdov, Vice-Rector; Tahir Mammadli, Adviser to the Rector; Ali Alizade, Head of Scientific Coordination and Monitoring Department; Nigar Adilova, Deputy Director in BA Programs; Nigar İsmayilova, Executive Director of the HPC Research Center; Rashad Abbasov, SABAH Programs Coordinator; and Najiba Nasibova, Education Counselor of the Embassy of Azerbaijan.
The discussions concluded in a positive atmosphere, emphasizing the shared commitment of both universities to developing a sustainable collaboration in scientific and academic fields. This initiative is expected to make a significant contribution to the advancement of science and technology in both countries. |
