November 7, 2025 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations Master's students in GTU's Management Program and Bilişim Vadisi Technology Development Zone employees come together with children under state protection at the Bilişim Vadisi campus as part of the “Be the Hope for the Future” project, contributing both to environmental awareness and to the children’s social development.
Gebze Technical University (GTU) and Türkiye’s hub of technology and innovation, Bilişim Vadisi, jointly launched a meaningful social responsibility project titled “Be the Hope for the Future.” Within the framework of the graduate course "Ethics in Business Life" offered by the GTU Department of Management, GTU master’s students and Bilişim Vadisi employees came together with children under state protection aimed to touch the lives of children and give them a day full of hope.
Children residing in the Yahya Kaptan Kassel Children’s Home Site were invited to the Bilişim Vadisi campus, where they had the opportunity to experience technology, science, and nature all together. The main aim of the event was to introduce children to the opportunities offered by one of Türkiye’s most valuable technology centers, broaden their horizons, and provide them with an enjoyable and inspiring day filled with various activities.
Throughout the day, the children participated in a puzzle workshop, virtual reality experience, and received various gifts. Robots, flying car prototypes, and numerous innovative technologies developed by companies located in Bilişim Vadisi were showcased to the children. To make technology more engaging and fun, even hot chocolate was served by robots, making the day even more enjoyable with food and beverage treats.
One of the most meaningful moments of the day was the tree-planting activity organized to instill environmental awareness and a love of nature. Volunteers emphasized that each sapling represented an investment in the children’s future and hopes.
The project, carried out with the contributions of Prof. Meral Elçi, Faculty Member from GTU's Department of Management, once again highlighted the importance of approaches that value humanity and society alongside technology. The “Be the Hope for the Future” event not only offered an unforgettable day to the children but also showcased the strong sense of social responsibility shared by GTU and Bilişim Vadisi. |
