GTU Makes Significant Contribution to Collaboration in Education

The Department of Bioengineering at Gebze Technical University (GTU) contributes to a training program organized in collaboration with the Aslan Çimento Center of Vocational Excellence. The contribution reinforces the university’s mission of social responsibility.

 

Instrumental Analysis Training in the field of Food Technology was conducted at the Gebze Enzyme Recognition Center (GERC) for teachers selected from high schools in the Darıca district. The training covered the use of high-tech devices and kits applied in areas such as bioengineering, biotechnology, enzymes, and food biotechnology. In addition, the adaptation of this knowledge to the new National Education curriculum was also discussed.

 

The training, which included both theoretical and practical sessions, received significant contributions from GTU Department of Bioengineering Faculty Member Prof. Barış Binay, as well as Research Assistants Buse Susamaz and Kübra Akbulut through their dedicated efforts.

 

Following the completion of the training sessions, the principal of Darıca Aslan Çimento Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and officials from the Center of Vocational Excellence paid a visit to the university to express their gratitude. During the visit, plaques were presented to the academics in recognition of their contributions.

 

During the visit, an evaluation of the successfully completed training program was conducted. Additionally, comprehensive discussions were held regarding new training programs and joint project opportunities that could be implemented in the upcoming period.

 

This collaboration between GTU and the Aslan Çimento Center of Vocational Excellence provided support for the academic and professional development of teachers and students under the framework of social responsibility, and strengthened the interaction between the university and its societal partners.
