The event began in the morning at the GTU Congress and Cultural Center. During the opening speeches, the current state of the university and its future vision were shared with the alumni. Neslihan Başaran (PhD), Coordinator of the GTU Alumni Office, informed the participants about the latest developments at the university and outlined the activities of the Alumni Office.

Taking the stage afterwards, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar emphasized the vital importance of alumni for the university. Highlighting the value of alumni-student collaboration, Mantar stated, “The career experiences of our alumni will shed light on future generations.” He also expressed that such gatherings would continue to increase and called on all alumni to actively contribute to this process.

The program also included emotional moments, with special plaques presented to distinguished alumni who had celebrated the 25th anniversary of their graduation.

Another speaker at the event was Prof. Fatma Yüksel, Coordinator of Student Societies. Prof. Yüksel underlined the importance of student socities in university life and noted that strengthening communication and interaction between alumni and current student socities was among their goals.

Following the official program at the Congress and Cultural Center, the event continued at the campus’s pond area. In a lively and dynamic setting, food and beverage stands offered opportunities for alumni, academics, and families to engage in conversation. Student societies' stands, in particular, fostered sincere interactions between alumni and current students, reinforcing intergenerational bonds.

The GTU Alumni Homecoming left a lasting impression as a day of renewed friendships and strengthened the sense of belonging for the graduates.
