GTU Makes a Mark at TEKNOFEST 2025

Gebze Technical University (GTU) makes a name for itself at TEKNOFEST 2025, the heart of technology and innovation, achieving remarkable success. The awards won across various fields once again highlight the university’s scientific and technical competence.

 

The GTU Kılavuz Kaizen Rocket Team, competing in the TEKNOFEST Rocket Competition, achieved second place in the A2-Medium Altitude category, marking a major accomplishment. In the Blockchain + Artificial Intelligence field, the BlokKurdu team secured second place in the Blockchain Competition with their “Tomblok” project. GTU also reached the top in the TÜBİTAK University Students Research Project Competitions, with the GTU GeoTech Team winning second place in the “Smart Cities and Transportation” category.

 

The Kılavuz GTU-AQUA team reached the finals in the International UAV Competition Rotary Wing Category, finishing in fourth place; the Kılavuz Nano team placed 4th (HONORABLE MENTION) in the Chip Design Competition's Microcontroller Design Category; the MICROCAN team ranked 6th in the 3T in Oncology Competition; and the Alfa ETA 10 team completed the races in the International Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races' Electromobile Category.

 

A total of 107 GTU teams applied to TEKNOFEST 2025 Istanbul. In the Biotechnology Innovation Competition, the Betterway and Hemotech teams reached the finals in the project category, while the Biobombers team advanced to the finals in the idea category. Other finalist teams representing GTU included: Anadolu İKA Team in the Unmanned Ground Vehicle Competition, Yeniay in the Swarm UAV Competition, YTG Sefine GGM in the Unmanned Surface Vehicle Competition, KILAVUZ Logic in the Chip Design Competition Microcontroller Design Category, BetterWay in the Biotechnology Innovation Competition Project Category - University and Higher Level, YTG-KILAVUZ-GGM HYDROFEST in the Environment and Energy Technologies Competition / Environmental Technologies - University and Higher Level, SHADOW LOOP in the Hyperloop Development Competition, Tair Technology Team in the International UAV Competition Rotary Wing Category, GREYLAG in the Aviation Ideathon Competition, and DataFlow in the E-Commerce Hackathon Competition. All teams successfully represented GTU.
