Gebze Technical University (GTU) Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar delivers important messages on leadership in education, innovation, and values education during a panel discussion titled “Leadership and Innovation-Oriented Management Models in Educational Institutions” held in Çayırova.
The event, organized by the Çayırova District Directorate of National Education, took place on September 1, 2025, at Çayırova 100th Year Special Education Practice School (Çayırova 100. Yıl Özel Eğitim Uygulama Okulu). Participants included GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, Çayırova District Governor Ahmet Önal, Çayırova Mayor Bünyamin Çiftçi, Çayırova District Director of National Education Recep Demir, branch and school principals, teachers, and parents.
In his speech, Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar emphasized that leadership is not merely a title or status but rather a sense of responsibility and a commitment to adding value to society. Stressing that education is not limited to academic achievement, Mantar stated: “The development of a student’s self-confidence, sense of responsibility, and becoming a beneficial member of society is far more valuable than success in exams. Innovation in education is not only about using technological tools but also about adopting an approach that supports our children’s moral and social development.”
Drawing on examples from his own life, the Rector highlighted the role of education in shaping an individual’s character and underlined that values instilled at an early age play a decisive role in future success and leadership skills.
Çayırova District Governor Ahmet Önal, in his remarks, pointed out the importance of raising children not only with academic competence but also with strong moral values, saying: “Access to information in education has become easier; the real issue is equipping our children with the ability to distinguish right from wrong and instilling our national and moral values.”
Çayırova Mayor Bünyamin Çiftçi emphasized that students who internalize national culture and traditions will become the hope of the future, while District Director of National Education Recep Demir stated that education is a dynamic process that develops through the collaboration of all stakeholders, expressing gratitude to GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar for his support.
At the end of the event, District Governor Ahmet Önal, Mayor Bünyamin Çiftçi, and District Director of National Education Recep Demir presented a gift to Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar. The event concluded with a group photo.
