The team from Gebze Technical University (GTU) Department of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, consisting of faculty members and students, achieves significant success in the international Vertico Greenfield Residency 2025 program with their project titled "Water-Ground Structures – Robotic Earth-Water Scaffolds."

Led by Assoc. Prof. Fitnat Cimşit-Koş, faculty member from GTU’s Department of Architecture, the team includes Research Assistant Seben Aşkın-Kütükçü, PhD student Zehra Delerel, and Assistant Professor Ümit Barış Kutman as advisor. Additionally, Özgür Kavurmacıoğlu (PhD), Assistant Professor Betül Ozar from Işık University, and 18 architecture students actively contributed to the project as researchers.

The project, titled "Water-Ground Structures – Robotic Earth-Water Scaffolds," explores potential relationships between robotic manufacturing technologies and interspecies ecological morphologies. It has been selected as the only project for this year’s Vertico Greenfield Residency program call.

The team will participate in a research and production program in Eindhoven, Netherlands, from November 10-14, 2025, where they will gain hands-on experience in producing 1:1 scale prototypes using robotic manufacturing tools.

This international achievement is regarded as a significant outcome of GTU’s emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and research potential. The Vertico team’s announcements have also been featuring GTU’s institutional identity and logos, contributing to the global recognition of this success.
