July 24, 2025 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations A significant cooperation protocol in the field of quantum sensor technologies is signed between Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE Inc.) and Gebze Technical University (GTU) during the 2025 International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF). The protocol, executed at a globally-recognized event like IDEF that showcases innovative developments and partnerships in the defense industry, underlines Türkiye’s commitment to technological independence once again.
The protocol was signed by Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar, Rector, GTU; İlhami Keleş, General Manager, MKE Inc.; Prof. Hasari Çelebi, Vice-Rector, GTU; and Ümit Kıyak, Deputy General Manager, MKE Inc.
The primary aim of the protocol is to establish the MKE Quantum Research and Development Center (KUARGEM) and to foster collaboration in areas such as scientific research in quantum sensor technologies, master's and doctoral programs, consultancy services, shared use of laboratories, candidate engineering and internship programs, and talent acquisition activities. Signed at an international event like IDEF 2025, the protocol stands out as a symbol of the strong integration between the defense industry and the academic world. |
