GTU’s commitment to educational excellence reaffirmed: Department of Chemical Engineering receives 5-year accreditation from MÜDEK.

Gebze Technical University (GTU) has once again proven the quality of its engineering education. The Department of Chemical Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering at GTU, has achieved a significant milestone by earning accreditation from the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs (MÜDEK).

The accreditation certifies that GTU’s undergraduate engineering programs are conducted in accordance with national and international quality standards and are driven by a commitment to continuous improvement.

Following the accreditations of the Departments of Electronics Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Computer Engineering, the accreditation of the Department of Chemical Engineering further demonstrates GTU’s competence in engineering education.

The MÜDEK accreditation granted to the Department of Chemical Engineering, along with the EUR-ACE label, is valid for five years, from May 1, 2025, to September 30, 2030.

Additionally, based on recent evaluations, the accreditation periods of the previously-accredited Departments of Electronics Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering have been extended by three years, now valid until September 30, 2028.

At GTU, we take great pride in the recognition of our efforts to ensure the sustainability of quality assurance in engineering education, and we sincerely thank all our academic and administrative staff who have contributed to this achievement.
