Gebze Technical University (GTU) takes another step in its institutional quality assurance efforts by successfully completing the first external surveillance audit conducted within the scope of the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
Gebze Technical University (GTU) continues its institutional development with its quality management practices. In this context, the university has successfully completed the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System First Surveillance Audit. The audit was conducted throughout the day on July 2, 2025, within all administrative divisions of the university.
The audit was carried out by experienced Lead Auditor Olcay Koca and Auditor Aysel Çalağan, appointed by "Türk Loydu". All documentation and practices related to GTU’s quality processes were thoroughly reviewed on-site, and compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard was assessed.
Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, vice-rectors, directors, relevant division managers, and divisional quality officers actively participated in the audit process. Observations made in the administrative divisions concluded that Gebze Technical University implements its quality management system effectively and sustainably.
“Continuous Improvement and Participatory Management Approach Adopted” The auditors’ evaluations highlighted that GTU embraces a process-oriented management approach, that staff possess a high awareness of quality, and that the system is operational at all levels. It was especially noted that modern quality principles such as risk-based thinking, continuous improvement, and performance monitoring have been successfully integrated into the institutional structure.
Rector Mantar: “Quality Is Indispensable to Our Institutional Culture” Speaking at the closing meeting held at the end of the audit, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar emphasized that quality assurance is not merely document-based, but culture-based, stating:
“Our university prioritizes quality in every field, from education and research to administrative operations and social contribution. This audit process demonstrates our systematic and transparent management approach. I thank all our colleagues who have contributed to this process.” |
