GTU Bioengineering student Hafsa Tuğrul successfully represents Türkiye at the L'Oréal Brandstorm 2025 Global Finals.
Hafsa Tuğrul, a senior student from the Department of Bioengineering at Gebze Technical University (GTU), successfully represented Türkiye at the L'Oréal Brandstorm 2025 Global Finals held in Paris on June 12–13, 2025, with the “DermaX” project developed together with her teammates Artun Kanıt and İkra Koç.
Representing Türkiye After Winning the National Finals
The trio earned their spot in the global finals by winning first place in the L'Oréal Brandstorm Türkiye Finals. Their innovative project “DermaX,” which merges dermatology and technology, attracted significant attention from both the international jury and audience.
An Innovative Approach to Men’s Skin Health
This year’s competition theme was “men’s beauty.” The GTU team’s project aimed to address common skin problems faced by men. DermaX—a specialized dermapen featuring microneedling technology, paired with a custom-developed serum—stood out as an innovative men’s skincare product integrated with advanced technology.
Global Career Opportunities for Young Talents
Organized by L’Oréal, the Brandstorm competition is known as one of the most prestigious global innovation contests for individuals under 30. Aiming to support young people in their career journeys, the competition brings together thousands of students from around the world each year. L'Oréal Brandstorm is also recognized as the only youth innovation competition certified by the EOCCS (Online Course Certification System).
