Students from Gebze Technical University (GTU) receive international recognition for two innovative projects they develop at ETHGlobal Prague 2025. Participating as members of the GTU Blockchain Society, they succeed in having their projects, ChronoTrade and Vaultify, included in Blockscout’s $10,000 prize pool. This remarkable achievement brings pride to both GTU and Türkiye by representing the country on the international Web3 stage.
Held in Prague between May 30 and June 1, 2025, ETHGlobal Prague is a prestigious blockchain event supported by the Ethereum Foundation, bringing together more than 800 developers from around the world. During the three-day hackathon, participants built and presented cutting-edge blockchain projects to an international panel of judges.
The GTU Blockchain Society was represented by a multidisciplinary team of 12 members from the society’s core management, contributing in areas such as software development, design, and content creation. The participating students were Ahmet Emre Yavuz, Arda Ceylan, Bengisu Duru Göksu, Emirhan Güney, Eren Yılmaz, Mehmet Nuri Başa, Melik Ahmet Caymazoğlu, Salih Cengiz, Selin Bardakçı, Umut Satır, Yağmur Meral, and Yusuf Alperen Çelik.
One of the award-winning projects, ChronoTrade, was developed by Mehmet Nuri Başa, Melik Ahmet Caymazoğlu, Umut Satır, and Yusuf Alperen Çelik. ChronoTrade is a decentralized, time-based service platform that allows users to trade skills and services under the principle of "1 TIME = 1 hour." The other winning project, Vaultify, was developed by Arda Ceylan, Bengisu Duru Göksu, Salih Cengiz, and Selin Bardakçı.
