Gebze Technical University (GTU) achieves a significant milestone by ranking 7th among public universities and 12th overall in the 2024 Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index, prepared by TÜBİTAK.
The results of the 2024 Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index, compiled by TÜBİTAK, have been announced. GTU once again demonstrated its strength in entrepreneurship and innovation by securing the 7th place among public universities and 12th in the overall ranking in this prestigious index.
In the index, which evaluated 197 universities, higher education institutions with more than 50 faculty members were scored based on 23 indicators under four main categories: scientific and technological research capacity, intellectual property pool, collaborations and interactions, and economic and social impact. The data collection and evaluation process lasted approximately nine months, with contributions from 323 institutions.
The index results were announced by Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Industry and Technology, at the ATO Congresium. Minister Kacır emphasized that the index fosters constructive competition among universities and that universities have become leading actors in the production of scientific knowledge and technological innovation.
GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar highlighted the university’s support for R&D activities and the developments within its technopark ecosystem. He stated that GTU will continue to strengthen its platforms for collaboration and innovation with determination to further enhance its entrepreneurial potential.
GTU’s high ranking among both public and overall universities reflects its strong commitment to scientific productivity, industrial collaboration, and social impact. By combining its research-oriented vision with an entrepreneurial spirit, GTU continues to make a strong contribution to Türkiye’s technology-driven development goals. |
