Assoc. Prof. Gamze Gediz-İliş, a faculty member of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Gebze Technical University (GTU), and Research Assistant Yiğitalp Gökmen from the same department win second place with their project titled "Smart Battery Pack" in the JetLuck competition organized by Halkbank.
In the energy storage and automotive sectors, the demand for fast-charging and higher-capacity batteries is rapidly increasing, while their lifespans are decreasing. GTU Mechanical Engineering Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Gamze Gediz-İliş and Research Assistant Yiğitalp Gökmen, who specialize in battery cooling, are developing both hardware and software solutions to address this issue. Their innovative liquid cooling design and AI-based cooling control enable long-lasting and cost-effective energy storage. With their “Smart Battery Packs,” they are working on innovative, self-learning, low-cost, and energy-efficient healthy battery packs. |
