Gebze Technical University (GTU) Swimming Team stands out among over 300 athletes from 42 universities, achieving remarkable results in the Türkiye Interuniversity Swimming Championship held at Isparta Süleyman Demirel University from May 22 to 25, 2025. Competing with a 16-member squad, GTU ranks 11th among public universities and secures 14th place overall in the general standings.
The standout performance came from Yiğit Deniz Yeşil, who finished 7th in the 200m breaststroke, 8th in both the 200m backstroke and 400m individual medley, and 9th in the 50m breaststroke. Other athletes on the team also contributed valuable points in various categories, demonstrating GTU's rising strength in swimming. These achievements, following an intense training period and tough competition, have proven the team's dedication and the results of their disciplined efforts.
Throughout the tournament, GTU’s swimmers competed against national athletes, further proving their growing strength and determination to continue representing their university with pride on the national stage. |
