Gebze Technical University (GTU) takes an important step toward international scientific collaboration with the project titled Spectrum and Energy Efficient Networks for Disaster-Resilient Societies, which is accepted under the joint call by TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye) and NSF (U.S. National Science Foundation).

The joint application for the project, coordinated by Prof. Hasari Çelebi from the Department of Computer Engineering at GTU on the Türkiye side and by Assoc. Prof. Sabit Ekin from Texas A&M University (TAMU) on the U.S. side, has been accepted as part of the TÜBİTAK-NSF call. The title of the project is “Spectrum and Energy Efficient Networks for Disaster-Resilient Societies", and it is expected to strengthen the international collaboration between GTU and TAMU in particular, as well as the scientific ties between Türkiye and the United States in general, and to encourage future collaborations and knowledge exchange.

This notable project addresses the need for resilient and efficient wireless communication in disaster scenarios. It aims to develop a self-organizing network solution that can extend operational time under challenging post-disaster conditions and optimize both spectrum and energy efficiency.
