Gebze Technical University (GTU) Rowing Team achieves remarkable success by securing third place in the Men’s Coxless Four category at the International Meriç Rowing Races and International Academy Cup, organized by the Turkish Rowing Federation in Edirne.
Competing with a squad of 9 women and 8 men, the GTU team’s medal-winning athletes were Yavuz Bahadır İnci, Burak Emir, Yusuf Günalan, and Kaya Erdem Kaya. Participating for the first time on the international stage, both the Men’s and Women’s Eight teams impressed with their determination and strong team spirit.
GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar congratulated the athletes and coaching staff via social media, emphasizing that this achievement marks only the beginning.
The male rowers representing GTU were Yavuz Bahadır İnci, Burak Emir, Yusuf Günalan, Kaya Erdem Kaya, Yunus Emre Daştan, Kerem Çağaydın, Berk Kuseyri, and Ali Karadeniz, while the female athletes were Fadime İpek, Didem Gül Kan, Ayşe Evlendi, Zeynep Yangil, Tuğba Nida Bozer, Bengünur Kırbaş, Ceren Akyol, Gizem Gül Altun, and Esmagül İpek. |
