Urban Cooperation Between GTU and Çayırova Municipality

A cooperation protocol is signed between Gebze Technical University and Çayırova Municipality within the scope of the "YOUrban-KentSenin" Project.

 

Gebze Technical University (GTU) and Çayırova Municipality have signed an important cooperation protocol for the YOUrban-KentSenin Project, supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) under the European Commission. Through this protocol, joint efforts will be carried out in the fields of urban design and innovation, innovative solutions to urban problems will be developed through participatory processes, and the sustainability of project outcomes will be ensured.

 

The protocol was signed at the GTU Rectorate by GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar and Çayırova Mayor Bünyamin Çiftçi. This cooperation aims to enable both institutions to generate innovative and sustainable solutions to urban challenges.

 

Speaking on the protocol, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation established with Çayırova Municipality under the YOUrban project. He emphasized that this partnership will generate innovative and sustainable solutions to the city's problems. He stated that the project, beyond being an academic initiative, aims to make the city more livable through the active participation of Çayırova’s residents, and that he believes the combination of the university's scientific expertise with the municipality’s local experience will create an exemplary model of urban development.

 

Within the scope of the cooperation, the parties will conduct academic research, workshops, and data and field analyses as part of the YOUrban project. Additionally, joint efforts will be made to develop architectural and urban design ideas for the improvement of urban areas under the responsibility of Çayırova Municipality. The protocol also includes organizing training sessions, seminars, and awareness programs for municipal employees and local residents.
