In celebration of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, Gebze Technical University (GTU) Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar hosts students from Minik Çınar Kindergarten at his office. The children arrive at the Rectorate with excitement and joy, presenting their carefully crafted “Tree Neighborhood” project—made from recycled materials—as a gift to Prof. Mantar.
During the visit, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar symbolically handed over his seat to Ahmet Tuna Özkan, one of the young students from Minik Çınar Kindergarten. As soon as he sat in the Rector’s chair, “Little Rector” Ahmet Tuna Özkan gave his first official instructions that a large park and a primary school be built within the university campus.
Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar warmly engaged with his young guests and celebrated the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day with them. Emphasizing the importance of children as the guarantors of the future, he stated: "Today, we are together with the architects of our future—our children. The sparkle in their eyes strengthens our hope for tomorrow. April 23 is not only a holiday for children, but also marks the inauguration of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and the declaration of our national sovereignty. On this meaningful day, I sincerely celebrate the holiday of all children."
The young visitors also stopped by the offices of GTU Vice-Rectors Prof. Mahmut Durmuş and Prof. Hasari Çelebi, presenting them with flowers. Their meaningful visit filled the university campus with the joyful spirit of the holiday.
