Digital Transformation in Education: AR/VR Training for Teachers

Teachers of Information Technologies in Kocaeli experience the technologies of the future at the “Augmented and Virtual Reality in Education” seminar, jointly organized by Gebze Technical University (GTU) and Denizyıldızları Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School (MTAL).

 

The seminar, themed “Augmented and Virtual Reality in Education,” was held for IT teachers working in Kocaeli by the GTU Faculty of Engineering in collaboration with the Denizyıldızları MTAL Sectoral Excellence Center.

 

Organized within the scope of Policy 2.1.5 on Vocational and Technical Training, the event took place on April 16, 2025, in the classrooms of GTU’s Faculty of Engineering. Trainers Melike Seyitoğlu and Bilal Gökçe presented the applications of AR/VR technologies in the educational field.

 

During the seminar, participants received hands-on training on how to integrate virtual and augmented reality tools into their lessons. Teachers had the opportunity to directly experience these technologies using digital headsets and specialized software. They also worked on sample scenarios for classroom integration.

 

The administration of Denizyıldızları MTAL extended their gratitude to Prof. Yusuf Sinan Akgül, Dean of the GTU Faculty of Engineering, and Assoc. Prof. Yakup Genç for their contributions to the organization of the seminar.

 

The event concluded with a focus on the importance of digital transformation in vocational education and the aim of equipping teachers with next-generation technologies.
