The “’80s and ’90s Nostalgic Songs” concert, performed by the Turkish Classical Music Choir of Gebze Technical University (GTU), takes the audience on a sentimental musical journey. The evening becomes even more special with the participation of renowned artist Coşkun Sabah, who joins the stage as a guest performer. Music lovers sing along with the performers and immerse themselves in the rich melodies of Turkish classical music.
GTU’s Turkish Classical Music Choir presented a heartfelt and entertaining night with a repertoire that celebrated some of the most beloved Turkish songs from the 1980s and 1990s. Conducted by TRT Istanbul Radio Vocal Artist and Choir Conductor Seda Gökkadar, the performance received great acclaim from the audience. The highlight of the night was the appearance of Turkish music icon Coşkun Sabah, whose powerful voice added a special charm to the evening.
The fact that the choir consisted of GTU’s own academic and administrative staff added a unique and touching element to the concert. The performance by university members was met with admiration and appreciation from the audience.
Held on the evening of April 16, 2025, at the GTU Congress and Cultural Center, the event welcomed GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, Vice-Rectors Prof. Elif Damla Arısan and Prof. Mahmut Durmuş, alongside many academic and administrative staff members, students, and music enthusiasts. The packed venue resonated with enthusiastic audience participation throughout the evening.
At the close of the concert, Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar presented a plaque and flowers to Coşkun Sabah in recognition of his contribution. Vice-Rector Prof. Elif Damla Arısan expressed her gratitude to Conductor Seda Gökkadar, also presenting her with flowers and a plaque. Additionally, Vice-Rector Prof. Mahmut Durmuş presented thank-you plaques to Cengiz Göçmen, Managing Director of Gühring, and Şadi Yazıcı, MD, Owner of Mercan Hospital, for their sponsorship support.
