Human Resources Summit on Employment successfully concludes at Güzeller OIZ with GTU's participation.
The Human Resources Summit on Employment, held at the Conference Hall of Gebze Güzeller Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ), has made significant contributions to the region’s employment dynamics. At the summit, in which Gebze Technical University (GTU) participated as a stakeholder, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar addressed the university’s efforts regarding employment and proposed solutions to related challenges.
GTU’s active involvement in the summit once again underscored the university’s commitment to supporting employment and human resource development in the region. Strengthening cooperation among universities, industries, public institutions, and other stakeholders, the summit played an important role in the search for solutions to employment-related issues in the area.
The event was attended by Kocaeli Governor Mr. İlhami Aktaş, Gebze District Governor Mehmet Ali Özyiğit, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, Kocaeli University Rector Prof. Nuh Zafer Cantürk, Gebze Chamber of Commerce President Abdurrahman Aslantaş, Güzeller OIZ President Adem Ceylan, and representatives from related institutions and organizations.
Following a moment of silence and the national anthem, the summit began with opening remarks from the protocol, followed by a panel on “Employment-Oriented Efforts.” Panelists included Güzeller OIZ President Adem Ceylan, Kocaeli University Rector Prof. Nuh Zafer Cantürk, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, Gebze Chamber of Commerce President Abdurrahman Aslantaş, Kocaeli Provincial Director of National Education Ömer Akşemen, and Kocaeli Provincial Director of the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) Ulvi Yılmaz. The panel was moderated by İKDAY President Ahmet Koşkan.
Speaking during the panel, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar reaffirmed the university’s commitment to being a solution partner in this field. He emphasized GTU’s efforts to train qualified human resources and highlighted the importance of overcoming social barriers to employment and directing individuals toward areas that align with their abilities. He also stressed the need to change the prevailing cultural attitudes toward employment and to focus more on practical skills.
In the panel on “Vocational Education for Employment,” Gebze District Director of National Education Şenol Pekhöz, Prof. Hasan Kaya from Kocaeli University Hereke Asım Kocabıyık Vocational School, İKDAY President Ahmet Koşkan, Vivo HR Director Hasancan Yetik, and GGMEM Director Uğur Köse served as panelists. This session was moderated by GTU Career Development Center's Director Prof. Mustafa Türkmen. The summit concluded with a visit to Adem Ceylan Vocational High School and a luncheon. |
