An award ceremony is organized by the Gebze Technical University (GTU) Directorate of Library and Documentation as part of the 61st Library Week. The event, held in the library’s meeting room, is attended by GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar and Vice-Rector Prof. Elif Damla Arısan.
In the opening speech, Salim Yıldız, Library and Documentation Director, shared information about the library’s activities. Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar celebrated the 61st Library Week and expressed his gratitude to the Library Director and all staff members for their dedicated work. He emphasized the importance of the library for the university and shared his satisfaction with its services.
During the ceremony, plaques of appreciation were presented to Prof. Taşkın Kavzoğlu, Deniz Türkkantos, and Fatma Zehra Şahin for their valuable donations to the GTU Library in 2024.
Additionally, academic and administrative staff members, as well as students who borrowed the highest number of publications from the library in 2024, were awarded as follows:
The academic staff who borrowed the most publications in 2024 were Research Assistant Atacan Tunay Köksal, Asst. Prof. Merve Yılmaz, and Mehmet Erdem (PhD). The administrative staff who borrowed the most publications in 2024 were Ş. Serda Kayman, Döndü Çelik, and Serap Aksoy. The students who borrowed the most publications in 2024 were Bedirhan Soyal, Zozan Akalan, Sümeyra Cengiz, and Hamza Aydın.
The award-winning academic and administrative staff and students received books and various gifts from GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar and Vice-Rector Prof. Elif Damla Arısan. The event concluded with a group photo taken in the library hall. |
