GTU academics evaluate carbon management training tools and strategies for sustainable development during the transnational Net0Manager project meeting held in Budapest.
Gebze Technical University (GTU) participated in the 3rd Transnational Project Meeting of the EU-supported Net0Manager Project, held from April 8–10, 2025, in Budapest, Hungary. The event was hosted by the Hétfa Research Institute.
Representing GTU at the meeting were Project Coordinator Prof. Selçuk Toprak, Prof. Banu Çetin, and Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Balçık. During the two-day event, the core outputs and upcoming steps of the Net0Manager Project—which aims to provide vocational training in carbon management—were reviewed.
The agenda included key topics such as the finalized training toolkit, pilot results of the online platform, Open Educational Resources (OERs), micro-credential modules, policy recommendations, dissemination activities, and quality assurance. The GTU team made significant contributions, especially in the evaluation of the digital education platform, quality assurance processes, and the analysis of survey data related to improving micro-credentials.
The Net0Manager Project seeks to enhance the capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in measuring, monitoring, and reducing their carbon footprints while also improving the competencies of trainers in vocational education institutions in this field. It further aims to raise awareness in alignment with the European Green Deal and the UN Sustainable Development Goal 13 – Climate Action.
The project is coordinated by Training 2000 (Italy) and carried out in partnership with Gebze Technical University (Türkiye), Hétfa Research Institute (Hungary), INNOGESTIONA (Spain), SUPSI (Switzerland), CEA-PME (Belgium), and SVSTP (Slovakia).
Supported by open educational resources, digital platforms, and micro-credential certifications, the Net0Manager Project aims to contribute to the sustainable development goals and foster the transition to a carbon-neutral economy across Europe.
