GTU Academic Receives the BAGEP 2025 Award

Tuğçe Nihal Gevrek-Civan, Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science at Gebze Technical University (GTU), is awarded in the field of chemistry under BAGEP (Science Academy Young Scientists Award Program) 2025.

Asst. Prof. Gevrek-Civan, who conducts research in the field of polymer chemistry, has received the award for her study on the development of enzyme-encapsulated polymersomes. Her research aims to offer sustainable solutions to critical environmental issues, such as the removal of dyes and antibiotics from wastewater.

Asst. Prof. Tuğçe Nihal Gevrek-Civan received her award from Prof. İrşadi Aksun, Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Impact at Özyeğin University, during the ceremony held following the “Science Day” event organized at Özyeğin University on April 26, 2025.

The BAGEP award provides two years of research funding for young scientists. Its aim is to support and reward the most promising and brightest young academics by encouraging their research efforts.
