GTU Academic Wins the FEBS YSF 2025 Fellowship!

Research Assistant Mehmet Soner Türküner (PhD) from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Gebze Technical University (GTU) is selected as one of the 100 researchers for the Young Scientists’ Forum (YSF) 2025, organized by the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS).

Our academic has earned the FEBS fellowship thanks to his research conducted during his PhD dissertation titled "Investigation of the Roles of SIK2 in Hypothalamic POMC Neurons." With this achievement, he will participate in this prestigious forum, which will take place in Sapanca from July 2 to July 4, 2025. Following the forum, he will also attend the 49th FEBS Congress, which will be held in Istanbul from July 5 to July 9, 2025.

FEBS YSF 2025 is a significant event that brings together 100 promising young scientists from the international scientific community working in molecular and cellular biology. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in scientific discussions, attend seminars by leading academics, present their own research, and take part in career development sessions.
