GTU students win double awards at the "Architecture Pavilion" Architectural Concept Designs by Students competition organized by the Bursa Free Architects Association.
Students from the Department of Architecture at Gebze Technical University (GTU) has achieved success at the "Architecture Pavilion" Architectural Ideas Project Competition, organized by the Bursa Free Architects Association. Süha Yusuf has received the Purchasing Award for his design "Portable Cocoon Module," while Furkan Alpnar and Ertuğrul Emre Hüsrev's project "Sayfa" has won the Equivalent Mention Award.
Süha Yusuf's "Portable Cocoon Module" focuses on the cocoon formation process in the silkworm's metamorphosis and transforms this process into a spatial strategy. In the design, the temporal formation of flavonoid accumulation patterns in silk fabric is explored as a spatial design method.
Furkan Alpnar and Ertuğrul Emre Hüsrev's project "Sayfa" is based on a structural design created by pressing waste paper into cardboard tubes. The ability to produce and standardize the cardboard tubes in various sizes provides flexibility in construction, disassembly, and transportation processes. |
