The project, Alliance for Sustainable Product Innovation in a Data-Driven Economy (A-SIDE), which includes Asst. Prof. Özgün Yücel from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Prof. Muhammet Uzuntarla from the Department of Bioengineering at Gebze Technical University (GTU), is accepted under EIT HEI Call 4 Strand B: Deep-Tech.
The project is coordinated by Dublin City University (Ireland) and includes partner institutions such as the University of Ioannina (Greece), the University of East Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Vodena (industry representative), Gebze Technical University (Türkiye), John von Neumann University (Hungary), Mondragon Unibertsitatea (Spain), the University of Bergamo (Italy), and the University of Tours (France).
The A-SIDE project aims to develop innovative and digital solutions in the field of sustainable product design. Within this scope, a European-based innovation and collaboration hub will be established to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in sustainable product design. The project plans to leverage digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data to offer sustainable solutions, particularly in deep-tech fields like transportation, energy, and biotechnology.
Within the scope of the project, universities (HEIs), businesses, startups, and regional stakeholders will come together through a Virtual Innovation Forum (VIF) to accelerate product design innovations developed with digital and sustainable technologies.
