Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Öztürk, a faculty member of the Department of Physics at Gebze Technical University (GTU), is awarded funding for his project titled "Spintronics Studies with Nonlinear Antiferromagnetic (Mn3Sn and Mn3Pt) Thin Films for Innovative MRAM Designs" under the TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1001-Scientific and Technological Research Projects Funding Program. The project gets selected for funding based on the scientific evaluation results of applications submitted without waiting for the new term.
In the project, led by Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Öztürk, Assoc. Prof. Erdem Demirci from GTU’s Department of Physics, Perihan Aksu (PhD) from the Institute of Nanotechnology, and Assoc. Prof. Ertuğrul Karaca from Sakarya University’s Department of Physics will participate as researchers. In modern computer systems, speed differences between memory units cause energy loss and delays. Within the scope of the project, the spin-orbit torque effect in these structures will be investigated using nanoscale nonlinear antiferromagnetic/metallic thin films, contributing to the development of smaller, compatible, and highly efficient magnetic RAMs. |
