Saliha Türkmenoğlu-Berkan, an Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial Design at Gebze Technical University (GTU), is awarded funding from the TÜBİTAK-ARDEB 1002-A Rapid Support Module for her project titled "An Examination of Spatial Skill Development in the First Year of an Industrial Design Undergraduate Program."
The TÜBİTAK 1002-A project will be carried out under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Saliha Türkmenoğlu-Berkan, with a research team consisting of Associate Professor Ceyda Özgen, Assistant Professor Ersegün Erciş, Lecturer Nehir Taştan, Lecturer Ayşe Dalyanoğlu, and Lecturer Begüm Türeyengil. The project aims to examine the extent to which first-year industrial design education contributes to the development of spatial skills, the specific sub-factors involved, and how curricula can be improved by comparing the collected data across universities. The final report will be shared with participating universities to enhance the quality of education. |
