The project WELLDONE, led by Prof. Yusuf Sinan Akgül, a faculty member in the Department of Computer Engineering at Gebze Technical University (GTU), receives support from the European Union under the Erasmus+ Program.

The primary goal of the international collaborative project titled WELLDONE: Wheelchair Skills Training and European Values Promotion is to support wheelchair users in accessing all types of grounds without obstacles and to promote wheelchair skills and European values across Europe through education. As part of the project, students, academics, clinicians, and wheelchair users will come together under the themes of wheelchair skills training and social interaction. This initiative aims to raise awareness about wheelchair skills training throughout Europe.

Alongside Gebze Technical University, the project includes the following partner institutions: Yalova University (Applicant Organization, Yalova, Türkiye), Lietuvos Sporto Universitetas (Kaunas, Lithuania), Satakunnan Ammattikorkeakoulu Oy (Pori, Satakunta, Finland), and Akademia Wychowania Fizycznego Jozefa Pilsudskiego w Warszawie (Warsaw, Mazowieckie, Poland).

This project is supported under the Erasmus+ Program, which aims to increase opportunities in education, youth, and sports across Europe. Erasmus+ is a European Union program that strengthens cultural interaction and encourages knowledge sharing by providing educational and collaboration opportunities for students, academics, and institutions.

The outcomes of this project are expected to significantly contribute to improving the quality of life for wheelchair users and enhancing their participation in social life. Updates about the project will be shared on GTU's website and social media accounts.
