Drug Chemistry Conference, organized annually by the Chemists Association, is held this year on February 6-9, 2025, at Pine Beach Belek Hotel, Antalya.
The conference, organized in collaboration with Gebze Technical University (GTU) and Atatürk University, brought together scientists, industry representatives, and academics working in the field of drug research and production. The event covered current developments in drug chemistry, new projects, and collaborations between academia and industry. Providing a platform for scientists to share their knowledge and experiences, the conference also aimed to strengthen university-industry partnerships and lay the groundwork for innovative studies in the sector.
The opening speeches were delivered by GTU Vice-Rector Prof. Mahmut Durmuş, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, and Conference Chair Prof. Ramazan Altundaş, Dean of the Faculty of Science at GTU. The scientific program included invited talks, oral presentations, short oral presentations, poster presentations, and workshops.
Among the science speakers were Prof. Vincent Rotello from the University of Massachusetts, GTU Vice-Rector Prof. Mahmut Durmuş, who delivered a talk titled "Novel BODIPY Compounds for Non-Enzymatic Diagnosis of Diabetes", and Assoc. Prof. İrem Kulu from the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, GTU, who presented "Harnessing N-Heterocyclic Molecules and Click Chemistry in Drug Discovery: Unveiling Biological Activities".
Short oral presentations were also displayed as posters, creating a broader platform for participants to exchange information. Poster presentations were held over two days, totaling four hours, and the Poster Evaluation Jury awarded outstanding posters based on their assessments. |
