The project proposal titled "YOUrban: Youth Empowerment in Urban Decision Making - Fostering Community-Inclusive Beautiful Sustainable Public Realm", submitted by Asst. Prof. Funda Tan-Bayram, Department of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, Gebze Technical University, is awarded funding under the project call of the EIT Community, an initiative of the European Commission.
In this two-partner project, Asst. Prof. Funda Tan-Bayram serves as the principal investigator, while Assoc. Prof. Sedef Özçelik is the researcher. The lead institution is Gebze Technical University, and the partner institution is Çayırova Municipality. The YOUrban project aims to enhance youth participation in urban decision-making processes, promote the design of sustainable and inclusive public spaces, and strengthen local communities in line with the New European Bauhaus approach. The project is set to commence on February 1, 2025, and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025. |
