GTU Sports Club Rowing Team becomes a source of pride with its effort, discipline, and perseverance against Olympic-level competitors in the Ergometer Championship.
Gebze Technical University (GTU) Rowing Team successfully represented the university by participating in the 2025 Türkiye Indoor Rowing Championship (Ergometer) organized by the Turkish Rowing Federation on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Istanbul/Tuzla Naval Academy. Athletes competing in different categories achieved important degrees in Olympic-level competitions.
In the Senior Men's Category, where 82 athletes competed in total, Burak Emir and Yusuf Günalan achieved a great success by ranking in the top 15, while Derya Uysal achieved a significant success by ranking in the top 11 in the U23 Women's Category in the Women's group, where 20 female athletes competed.
In the competition where young GTU student athletes had the opportunity to gain important experience, the categories, participant names, and ranks were as follows:
Senior Men's Category
Yusuf Günalan came 14th, Burak Emir 15th, İbrahim Berk Uğur 23rd, Kaya Erdem Kaya 25th, Ahmet Semih Marufoğlu 38th.
U23 Men's Category
Berk Kuseyri came 27th, Yavuz Bahadır İnci 39th, Yunus Emre Daştan 39th, Bilal Elmas 45th, Kerem Çağaydın 48th, Murat Başol 51st.
Senior Women's Category
Bengünur Kırbaş came 25th, Tuğba Nida Bozer 28th, Ayşe Evlendi 29th, Didem Gül Kan 30th.
U23 Women's Category
Derya Uysal came 11th, Zeynep Yangil 16th, Esmagül İpek 18th, İlayda Güngör 19th.
