Gebze Technical University (GTU) gets awarded the "Nutrition-Friendly and Physical Activity-Supporting Workplace Certificate." Following an application under the Sports-Friendly Campus initiative, the relevant certificate is presented to GTU after inspections conducted by the Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of Health.
With this achievement, GTU has been rewarded for its pioneering work in health and sustainability. The university has demonstrated its commitment to creating a work environment that supports healthy nutrition and physical activity.
The Nutrition-Friendly and Physical Activity-Supporting Workplace Certificate program aims to support and improve employee health by promoting behavior changes in areas such as healthy eating and physical activity in the workplace. The program covers various workplaces that meet the required conditions, including public institutions, private organizations, factories, and offices.
Furthermore, GTU’s sustainability efforts have also been recognized by its success in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. While GTU ranked 852nd in 2023, it has climbed to 578th for 2024, securing a significant position among the world's greenest campuses and once again proving its success in the field of sustainability.
