The projects by Cosmological Research Society and Cultural Development Society, which are among the student societies of Gebze Technical University, receive support from the university student clubs support program "ÜNİDES".
The projects that have received support according to the results of the 2nd term of ÜNİDES 2024-2025, whose applications were prepared in collaboration with Gebze Technical University Young Office (Genç Ofis), are as follows:
GTU Cultural Development Society's project "Roll-Back" focuses on the collection and recycling of idle roll-up mechanisms at Gebze Technical University (GTU). This project is based on the principles of sustainability and recycling. By re-evaluating unused or no longer functional roll-up mechanisms, it aims to both reduce the environmental damage of waste and make efficient use of resources at the university. This project has the potential to both raise environmental awareness and raise awareness in the university community. It is also expected to provide an innovative model for recycling waste.
The event series project presented by the Cosmological Research Society (COSMOS) aims to raise awareness among young people about cosmology and space science. Covering a wide range of topics such as the Solar System, stellar evolution, spacecraft design and space colonization, the program will start in March and run for 5 weeks. The event series will provide easy-to-understand content through peer education. SpaceCon aims to increase interest in space science as well as create a scientific interaction and shared learning environment.
University Student Societies Cooperation and Support Program (ÜNİDES) is a support program that facilitates university student societies to implement their projects. ÜNİDES aims to support young people in areas where young people are concentrated and to ensure the effective and efficient use of young offices affiliated with youth centers.
Within the scope of ÜNİDES, prepared by the General Directorate of Youth Services, student clubs approved within the framework of the directives, procedures, and principles of universities and other legislation can benefit from this program. The program aims to support inclusive, feasible and sustainable projects that seek solutions to the needs and problems of young people and are aimed at the development of young people.
