GTU (Gebze Technical University) now offers its students and staff a faster, uninterrupted, and more accessible digital experience with a comprehensive internet infrastructure renewal carried out across the campus.
GTU continues to maintain its pioneering and innovative role in digital transformation among universities in Türkiye with its upgraded Wi-Fi networks. As part of the project managed by the GTU Directorate of Information Technology, 350 outdated Wi-Fi devices have been replaced, and the indoor Wi-Fi infrastructure in 80 buildings has been completely modernized. Additionally, new Wi-Fi networks have been installed from scratch in the campus's open areas, enabling students and staff to access uninterrupted internet at various locations such as train stations, bus waiting stops, cafeterias, social relaxation areas, and walking paths.
With the infrastructure investments made, the wired internet speed has been increased by 10 times, reaching 700 Mbps, while the wireless internet speed has been increased by 100 times, reaching 200 Mbps. As a result, GTU users will benefit from high-speed and uninterrupted internet access both while studying and engaging in social activities. |
