A ceremony is organized by the GTU Rectorate to present plaques to retired staff members in recognition of their contributions, dedication, and services to the institution.
Academic and administrative staff who have retired from Gebze Technical University (GTU) were hosted by GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar at the Rectorate. The gathering included reminiscing about past days and shared memories.
In his speech, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar expressed his gratitude to the retired staff for their contributions to the institution’s culture, employee motivation, and overall success. He specifically thanked the retired academics for their contributions to students, their scientific achievements, and the prestige they brought to the institution. Similarly, he expressed appreciation for the administrative staff’s dedication and service to GTU. Prof. Mantar emphasized that even after retirement, the staff would remain part of the GTU Family and encouraged them to stay connected with the institution. He added that the Rectorate plans to organize an annual activity to reunite with retired staff. Concluding his speech, he wished them success, health, and happiness in their future endeavors.
Following the speeches, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar presented plaques to the retired academic and administrative staff and together, they had their photos taken.
The retired staff who attended the ceremony included: Prof. Bülent Keskinler, Lecturer Emira Akkurt, Prof. Ayhan Demiriz, İlyas Cebeci, Yaşar Mumcu, Murat Çankaya, Adnan İşçi, Zeynep Kurtbaş, Nuray Demircan, Abdullah Adalı, Ahmet Nazım, Cevat Kuru, Nazmiye Özbakır, Samiye Bozkurt, Hüsniye Burcalı, and Gülay Bulut.
