The fifth edition of the BIOS Career '24, organized by the Gebze Technical University (GTU) Bioengineering Society (BIOS), is held on December 20, 2024 at the GTU Congress and Cultural Center. The event brings together over 150 participants from 10 different universities, connecting students with leading companies in fields such as pharmaceuticals, chemistry, biotechnology, and clinical research.

The event began with an opening speech by GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar. The Rector emphasized the importance of programs that build self-confidence and sectoral awareness, and expressed pride in the department’s strong academic staff and successful alumni profile. He also highlighted the significance of bioengineering as an interdisciplinary field, stating that such events contribute to students' career development.

BIOS Advisor Prof. Barış Binay expressed pride in the wide impact and continuity of the event. He stated that these types of organizations serve as an inspiration to participants and play a guiding role in career planning.

During the event, experts in their fields addressed various topics:

Esra Büyük Balsüzen (Atabay Pharmaceuticals) delivered a presentation on "cGMP Biotechnological Production," explaining biotechnological production processes.

Özlem Ayşe Aracı and Başak Biltekin (Atabay Pharmaceuticals) provided information on internship opportunities.

Engin Narinç (Founder of Vision Biotechnology) shared his experiences in entrepreneurship and biotechnology with a talk titled "Bir İhtimal Daha Var" (One More Possibility).

The event was enriched with a raffle, giveaways, and company booths in the foyer area. At the company stands, participants found the opportunity to gather information about internship recruitment and career opportunities.

After each session, brainstorming sessions were held, where participants had the chance for one-on-one interactions with the speakers. BIOS Career '24 provided an important platform for scientific and professional development, supporting the sharing of knowledge and experience in the field of bioengineering.

The aim of the event was for attendees to advance in their careers and academic processes with the knowledge gained. As in previous years, this year’s BIOS Career successfully served as an effective bridge between bioengineering students and industry representatives.
