A protocol for the Industrial Applications Course gets signed between GTU and TÜBİTAK National Metrology Institute (UME). Through this protocol, GTU students are expected seize the opportunity to undertake long-term internships at UME.
Gebze Technical University (GTU), recognized as Türkiye's leading research university, continues its efforts not only to equip university students with theoretical knowledge, but also to prepare them for the future by enhancing real-world skills through applied education. As part of the Industrial Applications Course, which plays a crucial role in helping students put theory into practice, a protocol has been signed with UME. The agreement, enabling GTU students to participate in long-term internships, was signed at the GTU Rectorate by GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar and TÜBİTAK UME Acting Director Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Çetintaş.
Under this course, eligible students complete half of their semester by engaging in practical training at private and public sector workplaces. This implementation, carried out under the GTU Industrial Applications Course Regulation, serves as a model application, supporting students in combining theory with practice. It helps them develop skills in problem-solving, teamwork, creativity and innovation, self-confidence, career preparation, critical thinking, responsibility, career planning, and networking.
